Marian’s Hannis-Miskar selected for national leadership summit

Marian Catholic senior Brooke Hannis-Miskar has been selected as one of 16 student ambassadors from across Pennsylvania to attend the 2026 National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) National Student Leadership Summit in Indianapolis from July 16-19.

The Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA) announced the selections Monday, noting that student ambassadors were chosen through an application and review process that evaluated leadership, academic achievement, school involvement and commitment to service.

The annual summit brings together more than 200 student leaders from across the United States and internationally for leadership training, collaboration and discussions aimed at strengthening student leadership within schools and communities.

Hannis-Miskar, who will be a senior at Marian during the 2026-27 school year, was one of only 16 students selected statewide and one of two representatives from District 11.

“The PIAA is proud to provide student leaders with opportunities to grow as ambassadors for education-based athletics and activities,” Jennifer Grassel, PIAA’s senior director of member school services and sport, said in a release. “These students have demonstrated strong leadership within their schools and communities, and we are excited for them to represent Pennsylvania on a national stage.”

Since 2007, nearly 200 student ambassadors have represented Pennsylvania through the program.
