State police at the Fern Ridge barracks reported the following incidents:
• Edgar Rivera, 56, of Effort, was charged with retail theft (shoplifting) after police were called to Kinsley’s ShopRite store, 107 Kinsley Drive, Chestnuthill Township, at 12:27 p.m. May 16.
Police said he was caught trying to steal items from the store totaling approximately $290.
• Police received a ChildLine report regarding the welfare of a 13-year-old girl from Effort.
The incident of endangering the welfare of a child was reported to have taken place at 12:29 p.m. May 8 on Lynx Lane, Chestnuthill Township.
• Police were called to a retail theft incident at Kinsley’s ShopRite store, 107 Kinsley Drive, Chestnuthill Township, at 10:28 a.m. April 28.
They said an unknown individual who was operating a 2022 Tesla made several orders to the store and canceled the credit card transactions upon picking up the orders.
The items were valued at $923.67, police said.
• A 39-year-old Brodheadsville man is the victim of a theft by deception/identity theft incident police were called to at 4:05 p.m. April 24 on Fawn View Road, Chestnuthill Township.
Police said it occurred when the suspect entered the Best Buy store and purchased three items valued at $1,195.59, using the victim’s Best Buy credit card account information.
They said the suspect was seen on the store’s surveillance and described him as a black man wearing a New York Yankees hat, a white T-shirt, red pants and red and white sneakers.
