State police at Bethlehem - crashes

State police at the Bethlehem barracks reported the following crashes:

• Alice I. Nissen, 73, of Slatington, was cited for failure to drive at a safe speed after a two-vehicle crash at 4:57 p.m. May 12 on Route 145 in North Whitehall Township, police said.

No one was injured in the incident.

Police said Nissen was driving a 2011 Mercedes-Benz ML350 that struck the back of a 2005 Ford Focus operated by Sarah O. Duckett, 20, of Laurys Station.

• A motorcycle rider, Tyler M. Boyd, 31, of Schnecksville, had minor injuries after a two-vehicle crash at 2:49 p.m. May 4 on Old Post Road, North Whitehall Township. Police said he was not transported from the scene.

They said the crash occurred as Danielle J. Drozd, 38, of Lehighton, was driving a 2004 Mitsubishi Endeavor westbound when she pulled over to the left and then turned left directly into the path of a 2025 Kawasaki ridden by Boyd, striking it.

Police said Boyd landed in the left lane.

They said the Mitsubishi was driven from the scene, while the Kawasaki was removed from the scene.

Drozd was cited after the crash, according to police.

• Police were called to a hit-and-run crash at 7:05 a.m. March 27 on private property on Route 309 in North Whitehall Township.

They said the incident resulted in the arrest of a 24-year-old man from Germansville who was driving a 2021 Kia at the time.
