Five area teams fell in Connie Mack League play on Wednesday.

Franklin Township dropped its season opener to Southern Lehigh, falling 2-1 in a pitchers’ duel.

Chase Llewellyn allowed just two runs and struck out six in six innings for FT, but Solehi’s Sammy Moscato was a tad better by tossing a five-hitter and fanning seven.

Llewellyn had two hits, while a fielder’s choice grounder by Logan Bellis knocked in Cash White with the game’s first run.

But Moscato and Braden Greenawald both delivered RBI singles in the second for Solehi, and neither team scored again.

South Parkland grabbed an early lead and pulled away from Northern Lehigh for an 8-3 victory.

Brooks Wetherhold had two hits and knocked in a run for the winners, who scored three times in the opening inning. Liam Gerhart added a hit, two runs and two RBIs.

Nolehi received a two-run homer from Pablo Rivera, while Avery Kabrick and Drew Mohrey both finished with a hit and a run.

Emmaus-Saylorsburg

Saylorsburg jumped out to a huge lead, but couldn’t hold it as Emmaus rallied for a wild 13-11 victory.

Carter Knight and Parker Ahner both had two-run singles for Saylorsburg during a nine-run first inning, while Jackson Walters added an RBI single.

But Emmaus used a four-run fifth and five-run sixth to pull out the win. Dellin Rodriguez finished with three RBIs, while Josh Knecht had two hits and scored two runs.

For Saylorsburg, Walters had two hits. He scored twice and stole three bases. Ahner ended with three RBIs, while Jameson Ocetnik knocked in a pair.

Luke Harris pitched a six-hit shutout and struck out seven for the winners, who received three RBIs from both Ryley George and Ryan Knight.

For the Bombers, Hunter Vasquez had two hits and a run. Colton Becker and Ben Negley each added a hit, a run and an RBI.
