Three accepted into Schuylkill ARD program

Schuylkill County Judge Christopher Hobbs has accepted three local people into the Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition program. Entry into the program is not an admission of guilt. Defendants may have their records expunged if they successfully complete the program, for first-time, nonviolent offenders.

Dante J. Epler, 26, of Tamaqua, was accepted into the ARD program for one year after being charged by Frackville State Trooper Nathan S. McHugh with driving under the influence of alcohol; driving without headlights; speeding; careless driving; and restrictions on alcoholic beverages on Oct. 26, 2025.

He was admitted to the program on the DUI charge; the remaining charges were dropped.

Hobbs imposed a number of conditions on Epler, including paying $500 to offset the cost of the ARD program and a $65 monthly supervision fee; surrendering his license for 30 days; successfully complete Alcohol Highway Safety School; paying court costs; and performing 10 hours of community service.

Vaughan R. Flyzik, 25, of Coaldale, was admitted into the ARD program for 18 months after being charged by Tamaqua Police Officer Douglas L. Springer Jr. with an accident involving an attended vehicle or property; an accident involving damage to a vehicle or property; two counts of careless driving; two counts of speeding; and failing to obey a stop sign on Dec. 22, 2025.

Hobbs imposed additional conditions on Flyzik, including paying $500 in restitution to the victim and $1,068 to her insurance company; paying $350 to offset the cost of the program; paying all court costs; undergoing a drug and alcohol evaluation and complying with any treatment recommendations; and performing 20 hours of community service.

Flyzik was admitted into ARD on the charge of causing an accident involving damage to a vehicle or property. The remaining charges were dropped.

Angela Solomon, 42, of Lansford, was admitted into ARD for 12 months after being charged by Frackville State Trooper Nickolas S. Price with two counts of criminal mischief involving damage to a property; two counts of repeated harassment; disorderly conduct; harassment involving conduct; harassment involving physical contact; disorderly conduct involving physical offense; and criminal mischief involving damage to property on June 24, 2025.

She was admitted into the ARD program on the first five charges. The remaining charges were dropped.

Hobbs imposed additional conditions, including paying all court costs; paying $350 to offset the cost of the program and a $65 monthly supervision fee; paying $1,802 to the victim and $2,236 and $1,254 to her two insurance companies; undergoing a drug and alcohol evaluation and complying with any recommended treatment; and performing 10 hours of community service.
