Attorney William A. Wyatt of Lake Harmony is the new chairman of the Republican Party in Carbon County.

He was elected to the post last night and will succeed John Faust of Palmerton, who chose not to seek re-election.

Wyatt, who retired three years ago after a length legal career with the RCA Corporation, served as the county GOP chairman in 1961 after having served in the Pennsylvania Legislature at Harrisburg from 1957-1958. He was the executive committee’s choice by acclamation last night.

Other officers elected last night are Esther Hartman of Franklin Township, vice chairwoman, Irene Hoppes of Jim Thorpe, secretary; and Debbie O’Brien of Palmerton, treasurer.
