Governor Milton J. Shapp has announced his appointment of Samuel J. Dolgopol of Lehighton as a member of the Governor’s Justice Commission.

Dolgopol’s term became effective May 16, and he succeeds John SW. “Bud” Angst of Nesquehoning.

The commission is made up of one elected official and one non-elected one from each county in the commonwealth.

The elected official previously named to represent Carbon County is District Attorney Richard Webb of Palmerton.

Dolgopol is principal of the Carbon County High School in Packerton and is chairman of the Tri-County Mental Health-Mental Retardation Commission Advisory Board and the Carbon County Children’s Services Bureau Advisory Council.
