Robert Uguccioni, executive director of the Pocono Mountains Vacation Bureau, paid a visit to Jim Thorpe and met with Albert U. Koch, chairman of the Carbon County Commissioners, and members of the Carbon County Tourist Promotion Agency to discuss the potential the county-seat community has as a tourist destination.

“What a great town and what a tremendous job has been done with the Railroad Station,” he said, predicting, “Jim Thorpe and Carbon County certainly have every ingredient necessary for the promotion of one of its greatest industries - tourism.”

Uguccioni pledged the vacation bureau’s promotion of the town and county and said, “You can expect a tremendous influx of people here this summer.”
