Monroe fight leads to attempted homicide charges

A fight that broke out Friday evening at the Martz Bus Terminal on Foxtown Hill Road in Delaware Water Gap escalated to an incident whereby one of the participants has been charged with attempted homicide.

State police at the Stroudsburg barracks said David W. Tyson, 65, of East Stroudsburg, was taken into custody and charged in the office of Magisterial District Judge Jamie Levy. He was then lodged in the Monroe County Correctional Facility, Snydersville, without bail.

Police said they were called to a fight in progress around 5:39 and determined two men engaged in shouting match that turned into rocks being thrown at Tyson’s vehicle. They said Tyson, in turn, accelerated his vehicle multiple times towards the victim, causing him to dive out of the way to avoid being struck by the motor vehicle.

Police did not identify the victim.
