Turnpike crashes

State police at the Pocono barracks reported the following crashes that occurred on the Northeast Extension of the Pennsylvania Turnpike:

• Frederick M. Wagner, 43, of Slatington, had suspected minor injuries his vehicle crashed at 3:05 a.m. April 16 at the Mahoning Valley Interchange.

Police said he was transported by personnel from the Lehigh Township Volunteer Fire Company No. 1 to the St. Luke’s Hospital, Carbon Campus, Franklin Township.

They said Wagner was driving a 2019 Nissan Rogue southbound on the turnpike when he exited at the interchange, failed to maintain his lane of travel and the vehicle struck a concrete barrier.

Wagner was cited after the crash, according to police.

• Albert L. Barone, 60, of Lehighton, was uninjured in a one-vehicle crash at 3:19 p.m. May 9 at mile marker 129.4 in Abington Township.

Barone was driving a 2019 Genesis south when it spun out on the wet roadway and struck an embankment, police said.

He was cited for failing to drive at a safe speed, according to police.
