Northern Lehigh School District has decided not to retain its head girls basketball coach next season.

On a 5-4 vote, the school board on Monday rejected a motion to hire Brandon Hibbler at the rate of $8,141.

Directors Gale Husack, Natalie Snyder, Angela Williams, Timothy Weaber and Crystal Bilby were opposed. Directors Gary Fedorcha, Donna Kulp, Joyce Thompson and board President Mathias Green were in favor.

After the vote, Green said the board will refer that back to administration for their future recommendation.

This past season, the girls basketball team finished with a record of 10-14. The team was 9-13 during the regular season, and won a district playoff opening round game against LV Academy before losing to Notre Dame in the quarterfinals.
