Monroe County Commissioners

The Monroe County commissioners handled the following items concerning the county departments last week:

• Children and Youth Services — Began a Purchase Service Agreement with Children’s Advocacy Center of NEPA from July 1, 2025 to June 30, 2026 with limit amount of $18,000 for medical assessments.

• Add the following vendors to the County List of Approved Vendors — Controller Office: Nina Campbell; Sheriff’s Office: American Heart Association; Voter Registration/Elections Office: Printelect (ratify); MCCF: Ace Link Industrial Inc.; Monroe County Aging Office: Estelle Moore, Yamilka Gonzalez, Michelle Cost; Fiscal Affairs (grants): Saddique Williams, Gregory Petrokovich, Miketeka Boynes and Malika Fernandez-Jones.

• Court Administration — Approved the 2025-2026 Magisterial District Judge essential Security Equipment Project Plan totaling $19,000.

• Fiscal/Grants — Ratified submitting the Fiscal Year 2026 Medicated Assisted Substance Abuse Treatment Grant Program application for the period April 1 to March 31, 2028, for $133,017; ratify submitting a project modification for the current year, as well as a continuation of funding through June 30, 2027 for Fiscal Year 23-24 Indigent Defense Grant Program Funds Contract in the amount of $96,027; ratify signing the FY 23-24 Indigent Defense Grant Program Funds Contract in the amount of $96,027; approve signing the updated Emergency Solutions Grant Contract 2024-26; execute the CSBG 2026 Pike County Sub-Recipient Contracts with Pike County Human Services, $23,800; Family Promise, $5,000; Pike County Developmental Center, $20,160; Choosing Integrity Inc., $15,000; Center for Developmental Disabilities of Pike County, $30,000.

• Municipal Waste Authority — Application for Reimbursement for a county recycling coordinator to the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection totaling $60,472.68 for the period Jan. 1, 2025 to Dec. 31, 2025.

• Office of Emergency Management — Authorization for Maryellen Keegan, director, to submit the 2026-2027 Hazardous Materials Response Fund Grant application for the period of July 1 to June 30, 2027, the amount to be determined by PEMA.

• Planning Commission — Began a professional consulting services agreement with UTRS to do a boundary survey for an agricultural conservation easement on the lands of Andrew T. Kirk, in the amount of $7,600, with the cost to be reimbursed by state when the farm is preserved.

• Sheriff — Approved professional services agreement with Jason R. Costanzo Esq. as solicitor at the rate of $15,000 per year.
