W. Penn plans fireworks, 250th celebration

West Penn Township will celebrate the 250th birthday of America on July 4 with fireworks, food and entertainment.

As plans get underway, donations are being accepted to help cover the fireworks display and to support the township’s police, fire company and ambulance.

Contributions of any amount are appreciated and may be sent or dropped off at the West Penn Township municipal building, 27 Municipal Road, New Ringgold, PA 17960.

The community celebration will be held from 6-10 p.m. from the J.E. Morgan Memorial Park, 49 Cold Spring Road. The rain date is July 5.

Planners said the celebration will honor the nation’s history while bringing together area residents for a memorable evening. It will also support police, fire and ambulance personnel who help the community every day.
