Palmerton Borough Council took the following action recently:
• Consideration of the appraisal of 401 Delaware Ave. failed after the motion died due to lack of a second. The borough is interested in the value of the building.
• Approved a letter of credit release in the amount of $11,078, and alternative maintenance escrow in the amount of $1,500 for the maintenance period on the project, for Princeton Pines.
• Agreed to consider a grant request from the Palmerton Shooting Team for range updates.
• Offered employment for the Public Works Department to Mike Stasko.
• Authorized the borough manager to hire two employees for summer employment, at the rate of $15 an hour.
• Accepted the resignations of Chris Olivia from the zoning hearing board and council vacancy board; and Jared Cebrosky from the shade tree commission.
• Announced that letters of interest will be accepted for the zoning hearing board, council vacancy board, shade tree commission and International Property Maintenance Code Board of Appeals until May 7.
• Authorized the advertisement of police car No. 56 on Municibid.
