Wine on the River set in Lehighton
The Lehighton Downtown Initiative will host the seventh annual Wine on the River from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday at Baer Memorial Park in Lehighton. The event is open to those age 21 and over.
There will be at least 18 wineries, two distilleries, food trucks, along with crafters and vendors, according to Bambi Elsasser, community operations director of LDI.
Elsasser said guests can enjoy the day sampling a variety of wines, shopping, listening to live music, food and more, and noted they will see some changes that the patrons themselves requested.
“One big change is the layout,” Elsasser said. “Our layout will be totally different for this year as we utilize the field area for the whole event.”
Elsasser noted that all tickets come with a complimentary wineglass sponsored by Home Comfort Solution, for taste testing, and LDI’s own custom wine check.
She encouraged guests to bring their lawn chairs, drink, eat and listen to live music all day long.
In addition, she said they can hang out at LDI’s Hang Out Tent sponsored by PenTeleData, to get out of the sun, and to get there early, as the Hang Out Tent is first come, first serve.
Elsasser said a list of wineries is available on LDI’s Facebook page under the Wine on the River event.
She said live music will consist of The Left Edge from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., followed by Toolshed Jack at 3 p.m., and offered special thanks to Mystic Mountaintop who will supply the stage and sound system.
“With a variety of food trucks and sweets there will be something for everyone,” Elsasser said. “Shop and visit our vendors in between your tastings.”
She said that for those who don’t wish to carry their purchases, they may check them with LDI’s unique wine check operation.
Elsasser added that new this year is a selfie and photo area, complete with backdrop and balloons, donated by event sponsor Air and Aesthetics.
Proceeds from all of LDI’s events go toward this year’s, as well as future years projects, which include but are not limited to:
• Caboose Refurbishment and Landscaping (current project);
• Skyline Playground Project (2026 and future);
• Welcome Signage Completion, and;
• Amphitheater & Park Project (future).
Elsasser said guests can save some money and purchase their Early Bird Tickets by 10 a.m. Saturday, as all advanced ticket holders will be entered to a win a basket of wine. This basket will be 20 bottles one from each winery and distillery.
