The annual Community Safety Day will be held this weekend.
The event will be held rain or shine from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Mauch Chunk Lake Park.
Organizations will set up booths with fun activities that teach children about a safety topic, from bicycle safety to how to best be prepared in the event of a fire.
The always popular Coconut Crusher will be brought in to illustrate the importance of wearing a helmet when cycling, using a scooter or skating.
There will be food and a bicycle giveaway drawing, as well as additional free giveaways throughout the day.
The annual event is organized through a partnership between Carbon County Kid Zone, state Sen. David Argall, state Rep. Doyle Heffley and the Carbon County commissioners.
