State police at the Hazleton barracks have released the results of a sobriety checkpoint initiative its troopers conducted on roads in Carbon and lower Luzerne counties during the Easter holiday period of April 2-5.
They said one motorist was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance.
Six other motorists were interviewed but released after passing standardized field sobriety tests.
Police said they issued 20 citations and 18 written warnings for violations of the Pennsylvania Motor Vehicle Code.
