One person was injured Sunday evening in a crash in Rush Township.

The incident occurred just after 6 p.m. as the driver was traveling west on Route 54 about a mile west of Marian Avenue. The driver went off the right side of the road and hit a tree. The victim was treated at the scene by members of the Ryan Township ambulance before being transported to a nearby trauma center.

Rush township fire police maintained traffic control at the scene reducing the roadway to one alternating lane.

State police at Frackville are investigating the incident.
