State police at the Hazleton barracks reported the following incidents:
• A 46-year-old Weatherly woman was cited for retail theft at the Walmart store in Hazle Township at 3:33 p.m. March 16.
Police said the store’s loss prevention team observed her “under-ringing” items and placing them into a shopping cart. The items were valued at $110.21, police said.
• A 27-year-old Tamaqua man is facing charges of driving under the influence of a controlled substance after police made a traffic stop at 12:38 a.m. April 15.
He was stopped in a 2013 Dodge Avenger for numerous Motor Vehicle Code violations in the 400 block of Hazle Township Boulevard, Hazle Township.
• A 41-year-old White Haven woman was charged with retail theft at the Walmart store in Hazle Township at 11:21 a.m. April 14.
She was caught stealing $394.29 worth of food items.
• A 36-year-old Lansford woman is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol after a traffic stop at 12:30 a.m. April 12.
She was stopped in a 2024 Subaru Impreza for Motor Vehicle Code violations in the 1600 block of North Church Street, Hazle Township.
• Alex Figueroa, 23, of Beaver Meadows, was charged with assault with bodily injury after an active domestic disturbance that turned physical in the 2000 block of Route 940, Hazle Township, at 9:47 p.m. March 30.
A 22-year-old Beaver Meadows woman told police Figueroa struck her several times in the face before fleeing the scene.
