Jim Thorpe Area High School will host the High School State Lifting Competition this Saturday beginning at 9 a.m. It marks the third consecutive year Jim Thorpe has hosted the event.
More than 250 lifters representing 22 schools are expected to compete in the statewide competition, making it one of the premier high school strength events in Pennsylvania.
Admission is $10 per person. Concessions will be available throughout the day, and lifting gear will also be available for purchase.
Organizers ask the community to support the Olympian Ironmen program, with proceeds benefiting weight room equipment and future meets.
Local media outlets and community members are encouraged to attend and support the outstanding student-athletes competing throughout the day.
