W. Penn road crew member resigns

West Penn Township approved the resignation of road crew member Sal Digilio.

Before the vote, resident Shawn Phillips asked the board if Digilio gave a reason for his resignation.

Board Chairman Tony Prudenti said it was due to “health.”

Prudenti then spoke of Digilio’s tireless service to the township.

“Sal’s been a great employee for West Penn Township,” Prudenti said. After the meeting, Prudenti said the township has advertised for the position.

In an unrelated matter, Phillips asked when the township will consider putting out to bid for grass cutting, or if it would be doing it in-house.

Prudenti said it would be in-house.

It was announced that a burn ban is in effect until further notice.
