Panther Valley board OKs personnel moves

The Panther Valley School Board will be welcoming a new technology coordinator this summer and also accepted resignations from three teachers.

The board recently approved hiring Kelsey McLoughlin as the coordinator of technology at a salary of $65,000, effective July 1.

She will fill the position left vacant with the retirement of Janet Fisher, who is retiring at the end of the school year.

Superintendent Dave McAndrew thanked Fisher for her dedication to the district and wished her luck with her retirement.

The board also accepted the resignation of Ann-Michele Houser, an intermediate school teacher who will be retiring at the end of the school year.

Also resigning were Tatiana Trexler, an elementary school teacher, and Theresea Williams, a junior-senior high school teacher, effective June 26 and June 14, respectively.

The board also approved:

• Credit courses for Jillian Frank and Sherry Bukics, junior-senior high teachers.

• A list of spring workers for the 2025-26 school year at $30 per event.

• A list of volunteers for the 2025-26 school year, with clearances on file.

• The following staff for the Pre-K Summer Kindergarten Program from July 27 to July 31 at the contract rates: Tina Frets, Melissa Gilbert, Angelina Deler, Tonya Drum, Jill Horn, Rebecca Chuma and Christina Helmer.

• Extracurricular and support activities at the elementary and staff for 2026-27 as follows: mentor and detention monitor, Diane Bachman; Kara Krajnak, elementary school technology and first grade level representative; Tina Frets, kindergarten grade level representative; Victoria Yazwinksy, second grade level representative; Diane Buchman, third grade level representative; and Amber McFadden, Title I coordinator.

• Daniel C. Bosket as a Lehigh Carbon Community College trustee at large, on the recommendation of the superintendent.

• Theresa Perez as director of Harmony Scholars for 2025-26 school year, retroactive to Feb. 1, 2026; and for the 2026-27 school year.

• Victoria Benack and Melena Perez as advisers for Harmony Scholars for 2025-26 school year, retroactive to Feb. 1, 2026; and also, for the 2026-27 school year.

• The following teachers for the Summer School Program for the junior-senior high school: Michelle Martin, Bruce Millheim, Sue Solt, Pauline Romanowski, Nancy Gardiner, Julian Costa, Keith Gogal, Robert MacDonald, Mary Kate Barndt and Evelyn Hydock.

• Extracurricular and support activities at the junior-senior high school and staff as follows: Evelyn Hydock, Culture Fest; National Honor Society, Lisa Ogozalek; Jennifer Jones and Jennifer Maynard, high school student council; Hannan Mordaunt, junior high student council; Josh Wank and Joseph Damiano, high school yearbook; Julian Costa, junior high yearbook; Michelle Martin, high school newspaper; Kimberly Bayer and Hannah Spillman, drama coach; K. • Carry over three vacations days and one personal day for Mary Louise Gauronsky to next school year, and five vacation days to July 1, 2, 6, 7 and 8, 2026 for Kristin Black.
