Two days after scoring 10 runs against Becahi, Pleasant Valley doubled that total Tuesday. The Bears turned a close game — holding a 4-2 lead after two innings — into a rout by scoring 16 runs over the final two frames.

Sam Smale paced the offense, going 2-for-3 with two singles, two walks, two runs scored and three RBIs.

Smale was the lone multiple hitter, but several Bears drove in three runs. Chase Borger had a single, two walks and two runs scored, while Jacob George added a double, three walks and two runs scored. Both finished with three RBIs.

Bella Altemose etched her name into the Pleasant Valley record book, helping lead the Bears to a 10-8 Eastern Pennsylvania Conference victory over East Stroudsburg North.

With Pleasant Valley looking for an insurance run in the seventh inning, Altemose delivered by blasting her eighth home run of the season — a new school single-season record. Facing a full count, she drove a pitch deep to left field.

Emma DePalma also homered for the Bears, leading off the second inning with a solo shot to right that gave Pleasant Valley a 4-1 advantage.

The Bears piled up extra-base hits throughout the night. Emily Fox, Isabelle Hoffman and Lila Borger each doubled, while DePalma, Maddie Abbatiello and Rylee Green all tripled.
