Spring Clean Up in Lansford begins on Saturday for the borough’s East Side Springgarden and east toward Andrewsville.
The cleanup for the West Side of the borough, Springgarden Street and west toward the Ashton Park/pool, is May 2.
All items must be placed at curbside the night before the cleanup, with items to be picked up starting at 5 a.m. on the date of the cleanup.
Items that will be accepted include: car or pickup truck tires, up to 20 inches, no more than four total; 10 bags of normal household trash; carpet and bulk items such as furniture, mattresses, washers, dryers and stoves.
Items must be bagged. Carpet must be cut into 4-foot sections, tied and bundled. Mattresses should be covered in plastic.
Bags or bundles of garden refuse, including leaves, grass clippings and bundled tree branches not to exceed 4 feet in length, will be accepted.
Air conditioners, refrigerators or any other Freon-bearing appliance must have the Freon removed and be tagged by a certified HVAC specialist, or it will not be taken.
Items that will not be accepted include tire rims, commercial tires, construction material, televisions, computers, printers, computer peripherals, electronics, appliances that contain chemicals, hazardous materials, paint, oil, gas or any other chemicals.
