April 18, 1962 — Charlie Romig, Rich George and Billy Heydt all win multiple events to help Palmerton capture a 67 1/2-27 1/2 Lehigh Valley League track and field victory over Stroudsburg. Romig takes first in the high jump (5-2) and pole vault (9-6), while George claims the 440 (57.3) and broad jump (19-2 1/2). Heydt turns in the top throws in both the discus (129-0 1/2) and shot put (44-5 1/4). The Blue Bombers also receive two firsts from Joe Visnosky, who wins the 220 (23.9) and ties teammate Willard Weaver in the 100 (11.0).
