Ross discusses history, election
Ross Township supervisors received an update on the township’s history and election preparations during a recent meeting, with Ross Township Historical Society member Martha Rezeli encouraging residents to attend a special keystone ceremony and visit the local museum.
Rezeli welcomed attendees to the ceremony, where refreshments were served and the museum was opened to the public for the event.
“We are excited to share the genesis and purpose of the Keystone with everyone,” Rezeli said.
Rezeli noted that museum membership and visitor counts have been increasing across age groups. The museum is open the second Saturday of each month from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. She encouraged residents to visit the historical society’s website for information on special showings outside regular hours.
As the May 19 primary election approaches, Vincent J. Delhery, judge of elections for Ross Township’s Second District, urged residents to participate.
“It’s important for every resident to have their voice heard in this election,” Delhery said.
Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on May 19. Delhery reminded residents the voter registration deadline is May 4 and encouraged those who are not registered to visit the county website for instructions.
Also at the meeting, solicitor Ricky Santee addressed the need to move forward with a resolution involving tax collector rent at the township building.
“The effective date would be January 2030, so we want to do the resolution,” Santee said.
Supervisors also discussed proposed changes to the township’s solar ordinance, including provisions related to on-site requirements.
