Turnpike crashes

State police at the Pocono barracks reported the following crashes that occurred on the Northeast Extension of the Pennsylvania Turnpike:

• Fred Anderson III, 52, of Snellville, Georgia, and Jaime Pizarro Jr., 40, of Feasterville/Trevose, were injured after a crash at 6:48 p.m. March 26 at mile marker 72.1 in East Penn Township, police said.

They were transported by personnel from the Cetronia Ambulance Corps to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest Campus, Salisbury Township.

Police said the crash occurred as Anderson was driving a 2020 Volvo southbound when it veered to the right and struck the rear of a 2025 Kenworth that had been operated by Pizarro but was stopped on the right shoulder. Both vehicles were be towed from the scene.

Anderson was cited after the crash, according to police.

• Avery N. Counts, 18, of Barnegat, New Jersey, was cited after a one-vehicle crash at 9:36 p.m. Feb. 7 at mile marker 95.2 in Kidder Township. She was uninjured in the incident.

Police said she was driving a 2015 Chevrolet Cruze southbound when she lost control of it. They said she swerved to the right, and traveled across both lanes and hit a concrete barrier. The car had disabling damage.
