Kutztown University seniors and Jim Thorpe graduates Leila Hurley and Olivia Smelas were selected to the 2025-26 College Sport Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District team for their successes on the court and in the classroom.

It is the second honor for Hurley and first for Smelas.

The 2025-26 Academic All-District Women’s Basketball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA.

Hurley, a senior guard on the Kutztown women’s basketball team, is majoring in elementary education with a 3.88 GPA. Her teammate Smelas, a center, is majoring in business administration with a concentration in accounting/management.
