Lehighton Lioness host spring fundraiser

The Lehighton Lioness Lions Club held a spring fundraising event on Saturday at the Lehighton Boys & Girls Band Hall, 197 N. Sixth St.

The event included a bake sale, craft sale, candy sale, and food from the kitchen.

There was also an indoor yard sale.

“We are just trying to get rid of the stuff that we may not want, but that other people would,” explained Lioness President Marsha Estep.

The club also conducted a soup sale. Some were available for sale, most were preordered. The sale included beef vegetable, ham and bean, chicken corn chowder and pierogi casserole.

The Lehighton Lioness Lions Club is very active in the community. They recently hosted their annual Easter Bunny Lunch, Bingo, and recently heard Franklin Klock from the Carbon County Environmental Education Center give a talk about the Screech Owl. The club plans to host the second Diabetes Walk later this year.

Funds raised by the Lehighton Lioness Lions Club are used for various projects to serve the Lehighton community.
