Tamaqua Seniors

The Tamaqua Senior Citizens met on March 26 with 24 members present.

Vice President Eileen Keich opened the meeting with the invocation, “Easter Prayer.” The group is praying for three members.

The next meeting will be held at 1 p.m. April 9 at the Coaldale Complex.

Rush-Ryan-Delano Seniors

The Rush-Ryan-Delano Senior Citizens met on March 24 with 31 members present.

President Robert Neifert opened the meeting with the invocation, “The First Moment of Spring.”

An election of officers will be held in May. On June 9, the anniversary will be celebrated and a picnic will be held.

The next meeting will be held on April 14 at Christ Church in Barnesville.

Luncheon

An “Anchor for Life” luncheon will be held at 11:30 a.m. April 14 at Grace Free Church, 10 Hollenbush Lane, Orwigsburg.

The event will feature speaker Carol LeBeau from Charleston, West Virginia, with music by Dave Cresswell. The event is sponsored by Schuylkill Women’s Connection/Stonecroft Ministries. There is a fee.

Calvary Lewistown

Pastor Debra Rogers will bring the message and administer Holy Communion at the 11 a.m. Resurrection Sunday service at Calvary Evangelical Church in the Lewistown Valley. The service will include special music by soloist Allie Wommer. Sunday school is at 9:45 a.m. There will be no Sunday evening service. The Wednesday prayer group will meet at 7 p.m.

Other services include a Maundy Thursday service at 7:15 p.m. today at Steigerwalt’s Church of God in McKeansburg, and a Good Friday service at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Zion United Methodist Church in New Ringgold.

An Easter sunrise service will be held at 6:30 a.m. Sunday at the Lewistown Valley Tabernacle, 614 Valley Road, Tamaqua. Meet at the tabernacle pavilion to walk to the crosses. The service will be held rain or shine.

Zion Lewistown

Pastor Jim Williams will officiate the Easter service at 10:30 a.m. Sunday at Zion Church in Lewistown Valley. Communion will be included. Sunday school is at 9:30 a.m.

St. Peter’s — West Penn

Easter Sunday worship services with communion at St. Peter’s Church in West Penn will be held at 6:30 and 9:30 a.m. Sunday. There will be breakfast in between services.

Retirees will meet Wednesday at 9:30 a.m.
