April 1, 1986 — Tamaqua’s Kris Fegley pitches a four-hitter to help the Blue Raiders earn a 4-3 softball win over visiting Lehighton. Fegley’s teammates stake the hurler to a four-run lead with three runs in the first inning and a single tally in the third. The Indians pull within a run in the later frames and get the tying run to second with no outs in the seventh, but Fegley — who strikes out eight — gets out of the jam to preserve the victory. Pattie Herring finishes with two hits, one a double, a run and an RBI for Tamaqua. Cathy Kabana and Charlotte Haas both add run-scoring singles, while Marianne Haas contributes a double.
