State police at Frackville - crashes
State police at the Frackville barracks reported the following accidents:
• Police were called to a two-vehicle mishap at 10:19 a.m. March 24 in the parking lot of J.W. Zaprazny, East Brunswick Township.
They said a 2020 Mack Truck traveling east on Route 8956 turned into the parking area of the business and overtook a 2014 Ford Transit without proper clearance, striking it on the driver’s side.
Police did not identify the drivers of the vehicles, who they said were uninjured.
The vehicles were able to be driven from the scene.
• Israel J. Gonzalez, 59, of Nesquehoning, had minor injuries in a two-vehicle crash at 3:57 p.m. March 25 on Route 309 (Claremont Avenue) in Hometown, Rush Township.
Police said he was transported by personnel from the Tamaqua Community Ambulance Association to the St. Luke’s Hospital, Miners Campus, Coaldale.
They said the crash involved vehicles driven by Matthew D. Power, 44, of Litchfield, Ohio, and Gonzalez, who had Tammy L. Fisher, 51, also of Nesquehoning, as his passenger. They did not provide the details of the incident but said both vehicles had to be towed from the scene.
Power and Fisher were uninjured.
• Ronnie R. Armstrong, 43, of Tamaqua, and Wilqui Herrera Santana, 29, Allentown, were injured in a two-vehicle crash at 5:38 p.m. March 25 on Valley Road, Walker Township.
Police said Armstrong was transported by personnel from the Pottsville/Schuylkill Haven Area EMS corps to the Geisinger-St. Luke’s Hospital, Orwigsburg, while Herrera Santana was taken by New Ringgold Ambulance personnel to the Lehigh Valley Hospital-East, Pottsville.
They said the crash occurred when Armstrong was driving a 2018 Buick Regal and Herrera Santana was operating a 2025 Ram Express.
Police did not provide the details of the incident except to say Armstrong was cited for “no passing zones.”
