Police release identity of man killed in Rush Twp.

State police released the identity of the man who died Saturday in an industrial accident in Rush Township.

Marco Poveda, 36, passed away following the 2 p.m. incident at a manufacturing facility at 143 Mahanoy Ave. in Hometown.

A GoFundMe was started to support Poveda’s family.

“Marco Vinicio Poveda was the kind of man people don’t forget. Not because he sought attention, but because of the quiet, steady way he showed up for the people he loved,” the GoFundMe states.

It notes that Poveda was a father who centered his life around his family.

“He worked long hours, often putting his own comfort aside, driven by the belief that sacrifice today would mean a better tomorrow for his daughter,” it reads.

The GoFundMe calls Poveda a “man with a generous heart, a warm spirit, and an unshakable commitment to those he cared about.”

The GoFundMe’s goal is $15,000.

“His loved ones face not only the deep emotional pain of losing him, but also the uncertainty of moving forward without the man who was their foundation,” it notes, and states that any support is appreciated.

The site of the accident is the former John Morgan knitting mill to the rear of the Hometown Farmers market. An Internet search shows the company operating at the site is Mainstreet Manufacturing.

According to the company’s website, the products manufactured include pillows, stuffed animals, children’s seating and pet beds.

State police are investigating the accident.
