Conservatives at CPAC overwhelmingly support President Donald Trump
Headlines in Newsweek, Politico, and WSJ would have you believe that Republicans turned on Trump at the recent Conservative Political Action Conference held in Texas this past weekend.
Newsweek quoted someone as saying, “Can’t stand the guy.” “The war in Iran is driving a generational divide between the MAGA men,” says Politico.
The Wall Street Journal painted an even gloomier picture: “Trump’s decision to go to war loomed over the Conservative Political Action Conference … this year the conference laid bare the rift among Trump’s MAGA base over the Middle East conflict …” Let’s just call it what it is — gaslighting, the attempt to manipulate voters into questioning their perception of reality.
The reality is: MAGA is winning.
CPAC conducts an annual straw poll. (This type of polling is used to gauge public opinion on various issues and should serve as a guide for elected politicians who are supposed to support the majority.) This year’s results showed that the doom and gloom projected by the leftists was not reflected in the numbers, far from it.
When asked, “Do you approve or disapprove of the job that Donald Trump is doing as President?”, 96% approved, 84% strongly approved.
Furthermore, when asked if they approved or disapproved of Trump’s decision to use military force in Iran to remove the Ayatollah and his terrorist regime from power to stop their nuclear weapons and ballistic missile programs, 89% said that they approved, and 70% said that they strongly approved.
Regarding our involvement in the Middle East, attendees were asked whether they agreed or disagreed with the statement, “Israel continues to be one the United States’ most important strategic allies in the world.” 85% agreed, with 60% agreeing strongly.
Another question asked of the attendees, “Would you say that you agree or disagree with the following statement? ‘Donald Trump has been the best President of my lifetime.’” — 94% agreed with 80% agreeing strongly.
If the left could stop hating long enough to take a look around them, they would see that positivity abounds. I, for one, voted for this.
