A driver escaped serious injury early Sunday morning in a crash in West Penn Township. The accident occurred around 2:15 a.m. along Route 309 on the Blue Mountain. The driver struck a deer then rolled the vehicle onto the west berm and was suspended in the wreckage by the seat belt. Responding to the scene were the West Penn and New Ringgold fire companies and the Penn Mahoning ambulance. West Penn fire police maintained traffic control at the scene. West Penn police are investigating the incident.
