Mountain Valley golf course sold, will close in October
A popular golf course, restaurant and events facility in Barnesville will close in the fall.
Owners of the Mountain Valley Golf Course said in a statement released Thursday that the facility has been purchased for commercial and industrial business use.
“After careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision that Mountain Valley Golf Course will cease operations at the conclusion of the 2026 golf season,” according to the statement.
Plans are to close during the second week of October “with the entire complex being purchased for future commercial and industrial business use,” the statement notes.
Until then, the facility at 1021 Brockton Mountain Dr. remains “fully committed to delivering a great experience throughout the entire 2026 season.”
Golfers, event guests and others can expect business to continue as usual with scheduled tournaments, outings and events to go on as planned.
According to the statement, the decision was not made lightly.
“Mountain Valley has been a meaningful part of the community for many years, and we are incredibly proud of the memories, events, and relationships built here over that time,” it notes.
The release notes that Mountain Valley is deeply grateful to its staff, loyal customers and community for its continued support.
“It has been an honor to serve as a gathering place for so many,” the release notes.
