The Bach and Handel Chorale, based out of Jim Thorpe, will present the Passion Cantata “The Seven Last Words of Christ” by Theodore DuBois, on Palm Sunday, beginning at 4 p.m.

The cantata will take place in St. John’s Lutheran Church, 319 South Ave. in Jim Thorpe. There is no admission required but an offering will be accepted.

The cantata recounts the seven last words of Christ from the cross, through solos and choruses throughout.

Randall Douglas Perry, founder, artistic director and conductor, will accompany on the piano and soloists include chorale members Joyce Barton, soprano; James Logue Jr., tenor; and Edward Sayre, baritone.

The chorale will open the concert with a short Lenten anthem entitled “Give Ear Unto My Prayer” by Jacob Arcadelt.

The chorale is completing its 41st year as a singing group specializing in the music of Johann Sebastian Bach, George Frideric Handel and other musical masters.
