Franklin Township supervisors took the following action on Tuesday:
• Agreed to advertise for bids on the garbage contract that runs out in April.
• After a brief executive session, agreed to take Tyler D. Poole off his probation period. Poole was hired as a full-time work crew/garbage crew employee, at the rate of $20.10 per hour, effective Sept. 15.
• Approval of workers’ compensation for Franklin Township police officer for Frank Buonaiuto from Feb. 28 through March 13.
• Accepted the resignation of Anthony Frantz from the position of auditor.
• Approved the 2026 Electronics Recycling Event between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. on April 4 for Franklin Township residents only.
• Announced that the office will be closed on April 20 and 21 during normal working hours for both secretaries to attend a Pennsylvania State Association of Township Supervisors conference. The office will reopen on April 22.
• Approved the request from Pohopoco Rod and Gun Club in requesting the use of ponds one and two for its May 9 event. Proper signage will be timely placed at both ponds reminding participants that both ponds are covered by the 15 years and under restriction and the 30-day exclusion of adult fishing. The club has had too many participants to safely have 70 or 80 youths fishing in only one pond.
