Palmerton School Board

The Palmerton Area School District Board of School Directors approved a range of fiscal, personnel and operational matters Tuesday night.

The board approved:

• a $28,065 transfer from the Capital Reserve Fund to cover construction change orders approved at the Feb. 17 meeting.

• The single audit report for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2025, from Gorman & Associates.

• Berkheimer Associates of Bangor as delinquent per capita tax collector for the 2025-26 school year at no cost to the district; fees are assessed to the taxpayer.

• A DJ services contract with Lehigh Valley Events & Productions for the Class of 2026 prom May 1 was approved at $1,750.

• A prom venue contract with Stroudsmoor Country Inn in Stroudsburg for the Class of 2027.

• Spring Day amusement contract with Metz Amusements & Concessions was approved for $723.69, funded by Student Council.

• Group catering agreement with Hersheypark Group Sales was approved for $4,274.03, paid by FBLA Club student fees and fundraising.

• Lisa Heffernan as a long-term substitute special education teacher at the high school at an annual salary of $52,301, prorated for the remainder of the 2025-26 school year and through approximately the first semester of 2026-27, effective March 18.

• Special education service agreements with Carbon Lehigh Intermediate Unit 21 for 2026-27.

• Clinical education agreement with Misericordia University, effective March 18, with automatic yearly renewal.

• Facilities scheduling and athletic integration software subscription with Follett Software was approved.

• A field trip to the PIAA Track Championships at Shippensburg University for May 21-23.

• Dr. Angela Friebolin to attend the PDE Summit in Hershey from March 30 through April 1 at an estimated cost of $814.24.
