Two Northern Lehigh High School students were praised after they turned in exemplary showings at a recent state conference.
Superintendent Dr. Matthew J. Link reported at last week’s school board meeting that two high school students who also attend Lehigh Career & Technical Institute recently competed in the DECA State Level Competition Conference in Hershey.
Link said the students performed exceptionally well, and added the district was very proud to recognize them for their accomplishments.
He said senior Savannah Hall placed second in the School Store Retail Operations, earned a Pennsylvania DECA Scholarship of $1,000, and was recognized for the Gold Certificate School Based Enterprise Retail Operations, specifically for her work and support of the salon at LCTI.
Link also said senior Mallory McIntyre placed first in a Chapter Banner Team Event, and first in the Pennsylvania DECA International Career Development Conference Pin Design Competition.
“So she’s actually going to design the pin for the national competition,” Link said. “This is the second time in recent years that we had somebody earn this particular honor because they worked hard for it.”
Link added that both Hall and McIntyre have also qualified to compete at the upcoming DECA International Career Development Conference in Atlanta.
“We congratulate them and wish them the best as they represent their schools at the national level,” he said.
