A Barnesville woman who police say shot a 39-year-old man Wednesday is now facing additional charges for punching a nurse at St. Luke’s-Miners campus in Coaldale.
State police said that Alycia Yost, 36, was taken to the hospital following the early Wednesday incident. While there, police said she punched a nurse in the face, which caused the nurse’s glasses to fall off.
The state police trooper charging Yost witnessed the incident.
As a result, police are charging Yost with aggravated assault, simple assault and harassment.
Yost is in the Schuylkill County Prison in lieu of $250,000 cash bail on attempted homicide and other charges relating the incident that began at 4 a.m. Wednesday.
Police responded to a home on Codorus Road in Barnesville for a 9-1-1 hang-up call.
A man exited the home and told police that Yost had shot him in the arm.
Yost refused commands to leave the home but eventually exited after a standoff that lasted several hours.
