Stroudsburg man charged in bank robbery

A Stroudsburg man has been charged in the bank robbery Saturday at Citizens Bank in Brodheadsville.

On Tuesday, the suspect, Jonathan Berrios, 33, was taken into custody without incident.

Berrios was arraigned on charges of robbery, terroristic threats, theft by unlawful taking and simple assault.

He was remanded to the Monroe County Correctional Facility.

Charges have been filed through Magisterial District Judge Colleen Mancuso of Brodheadsville.

Just before 10:30 a.m. Saturday, troopers from the Pennsylvania State Police, Fern Ridge Station were dispatched to Citizens Bank, 108 Erin Lane, Chestnuthill Township, for the report of an armed bank robbery.

Through investigation, it was determined that the suspect entered the bank wearing a black jacket with a logo on the left sleeve, black pants, a red hooded sweatshirt, white sneakers, a black mask, and black gloves.

He t presented a note to the teller demanding money and fled the bank with cash handed over from the teller.

The suspect vehicle was described as a dark SUV without a registration plate.
