Barnesville woman charged after standoff
A Barnesville woman who police say shot a man was taken into custody following an hours-long standoff with law enforcement Wednesday morning.
State police said that Alycia Marie Yost, 36, is facing attempted homicide charges following the 4 a.m. Wednesday shooting.
According to police, troopers responded to a home at 3 Codorus Road in Ryan Township, Barnesville, for a 9-1-1 hang-up call.
A 39-year-old man exited the home and told police that Yost had shot him in the arm. The man said that Yost was still inside the residence.
The man was taken to a hospital, where he is in stable condition, police said.
According to police, Yost refused commands to leave the home. State police activated the Special Emergency Response Team and Major Case team and Yost eventually came out of the residence. She was taken into custody by SERT members and transported to a hospital for a medical evaluation.
Police said it was an isolated incident and that there is no threat to the public.
During the incident, State Road was shut down with the help of the Ryan Township Fire Department. The road reopened after 11 a.m.
