State trooper fatally shot in Chester County

Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro announced just after midnight that a Pennsylvania state trooper was shot and killed Sunday night responding to a call in Chester County.

“Tonight, Pennsylvania tragically lost one of our finest when State Police Corporal Tim O’Connor was killed in the line of duty,” Shapiro said on Twitter.

News sources say O’Connor was shot when he pulled over an erratic driver.

Shapiro ordered flags across our Commonwealth to be lowered Monday in honor of O’Connor, who leaves behind a wife and young daughter.
