NL forms Unified Leadership student club

A program to bring together students with and without disabilities to promote inclusion, friendship, and leadership has been formed in the Northern Lehigh School District.

The school board on Monday unanimously approved the initial club application for the Northern Lehigh Unified Leadership Club.

The Northern Lehigh Education Association recommended a stipend for the adviser of the club, Lisa Fisher. She will be paid $200 beginning with the 2025-2026 school year, which will be added to the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Director Donna Kulp praised the district’s efforts in creating the program.

“I think it’s great that we are doing the Unified Leadership Club,” Kulp said. “The boccie has been very successful, and I am thrilled to see that we are continuing that with this particular club.”

Kulp added that the Unified Leadership Club figures to be a welcome addition for students of the district.

“I think it’s great,” she said. “The student support has been awesome, and I think it’s a win for both different groups at Northern Lehigh.”

Northern Lehigh School Board also approved the following matters on Monday:

• Conference: Gabi Wilder, National Science Teacher Association, April 15 to 18, Anaheim, California, with the cost of meals, $240, for a total cost of about $240, to be funded through the Director of Educational Technology, Curriculum & Instruction budget.

• Curriculum and Instruction: Middle School Curriculum Guide and High School Program of Study for the 2026-2027 school year.

• Expulsion hearing waiver for two unnamed students.
