Northern Lehigh School Board — Financial

Northern Lehigh School Board approved the following financial matters on Monday:

• Resolution regarding the 2026-2027 Lehigh Carbon Community College Sponsor Contribution Budget. Total expenditures equal $63,604,133, which represents an increase of $1,034,462, or 1.7% over the 2025-2026 budget. The district’s share of the total budget is $167,923, an increase of $8,083, or 5.1%.

• Transfer from the general fund balance to the capital reserve fund in the amount of $300,000 for future long-term capital expenditures.

• Retroactively, the purchase of one maintenance truck with snow plow, which was completed in October, in the amount of $54,940. The truck was budgeted for purchase during the 2025-2026 school year. The board also approved a budgetary transfer for the purchase of the truck. This action is to ensure compliance with Pennsylvania School District accounting standards and audit requirements, as the purchase was discussed at committee meetings but did not receive formal boar approval at the time of acquisition.

• Extended contract with NRG for software and firmware updates and repairs, at a one-time cost of $6,967 for 2026, to be funded through the buildings and grounds department budget.

• Addition of the Stopfinder App to include Slatington Elementary, Northern Lehigh Middle School, and Northern Lehigh High School for the remainder of this year at an additional $600 and to include all buildings during the 2026-2027 school year at $2,112, to be funded through the transportation budget.

• Continue membership in the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce at a fee of $504 for the 2026-2027 school year, to be paid for from the superintendent’s budget.

• Agreement with FirstAlt for additional transportation services, if needed.
