Upcoming and ongoing events were not forgotten at the Monroe County commissioners meeting on Wednesday.
Commissioner David Parker reminded the public that two America250PA events are going on right now, and include:
• Art Show at the Western Pocono Community Library — People can vote for their favorite artwork throughout February and the artist will win a prize;
• Quilt contest — The Monroe County Historical Association is accepting entries for the quilt contest are due by Feb. 27. The quilts must be 30-inch by 30-inch with a patriotic theme. A decision will be made in April and the quilts will be on displayed when historical association reopens in the spring. Go to https://monroehistorical.org/250pa.html for more information.
Parker said a pamphlet with a list of America250PA events is available. Information also is available online at for Carbon, Monroe, Pike and Wayne counties at www.poconomountains.com/america250pa.
Eric Diemer, a board member of Go Collaborative, announced that they are hosting Winterfest in downtown Stroudsburg from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Valentine’s Day, Saturday, Feb. 14. The event is free to attend.
“It’s a great opportunity to get out in town, get some fresh air, and support our local businesses,” Beamer said. “So I really encourage everybody to come and attend or at least share the event and help promote it.”
