Two men charged in a Slatington rape and false imprisonment investigation have pleaded guilty, Lehigh County District Attorney Gavin P. Holihan announced.
Jacquan Tanasse, 19, and Tristan Zawick, 23, both pleaded guilty to charges of rape; conspiracy to commit rape; false imprisonment; and conspiracy to false imprisonment. Tanasse also pleaded guilty to a strangulation charge.
Zawick faces a possible maximum sentence of 54 years in state prison. Tanasse faces a possible maximum sentence of 44 years in prison. Both are scheduled to be sentenced on May 28 before Judge James T. Anthony.
Just before 7 p.m. on Feb. 7, 2025, Slatington police were called to a home in the 200 block of Walnut Street.
A 17-year-old girl told police that Tanasse and Zawick had raped her in the basement of the home.
She said the two men raped her, physically restrained her and wrapped a cord around her wrists and stuffed a shirt in her mouth. She also told police that during the assault Tanasse had choked her.
When the case was first reported, authorities said Tanasse was from Slatington and Zawick was from Whitehall.
The case was investigated by Lehigh County District Attorney’s Special Victims Unit Detective Thomas Galloway and Slatington police. The cases were prosecuted by Senior Deputy District Attorney Sarah K. Heimbach.
