NL elementary students show off their science skills
A select group of Slatington Elementary students have been celebrated for putting their scientific skills to the test.
Superintendent Dr. Matthew J. Link said at Monday’s school board meeting that he had the pleasure of attending the Science Fair held last week at Slatington Elementary School and sponsored by the Northern Lehigh PTO.
“It was wonderful to see our Slatington Elementary School students sharing their projects and explaining their work to peers, parents and judges,” Link said.
Link added that the event was judged by Slatington Elementary School teachers Carleen Binder and Justin Fritz, along with special guest judge, school Director Timothy Weaber.
“The evening provided an ideal opportunity for our young scientists to walk others through their designs, hypotheses, outcomes and data, while also practicing valuable public speaking skills in a supportive setting,” he said.
Link said the list of winners were as follows:

• Savannah Hittinger, second place, for her experiment on elephant toothpaste.
