Tamaqua drama club presents ‘White Christmas’
The Tamaqua Area Drama Club is inviting all to share in the holiday spirit with its production of Irving Berlin’s “White Christmas.”
The play will hit the stage of the Tamaqua Area High School Auditorium at 6 p.m. Thursday, and at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
The family-friendly performance features beautiful costumes, toe-tapping choreography and many of Irving Berlin’s much loved classic songs. The audience should be prepared to sing along when invited.
The leads are Frank Wagner as Bob Wallace, Thomas Graham as Phil Davis, Isabel Nallon as Betty Haynes and Cecilia Ulicny as Judy Haynes.
The musical follows the plot of the classic movie with only minor changes.
Along with its title song, the musical includes “Sisters,” “The Old Man,” “Love, You Didn’t Do Right By Me,” “Blue Skies,” “Let Yourself Go,” “Snow,” “What Can You Do With A General” and “Count Your Blessings.”
However, other Berlin classics like “How Deep is the Ocean,” “I Love A Piano,” “Falling Out of Love Can Be Fun” and “Let Me Sing and I’m Happy” also make an appearance.
The club invites all to travel back to Christmases “just like the ones you used to know.”
Tickets can be purchased at https://www.ticketleap.events/events/tamaquaareadramaclub or at the door an hour before showtime.
Friday is expected to sell out, so those wishing to attend are encouraged to purchase tickets ahead of time.
